創世記第廿九章（一）：利亞的眼睛

創世記29:17
「利亞的眼睛沒有神氣，拉結卻生得美貌俊秀。」（和合本）
"Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured."（KJV）
「利亞的眼睛沒有神氣，拉結卻生得豐姿俊秀、容貌美麗。」（呂振中）
"Leah's eyes were tender, but Rachel had a lovely figure and beautiful appearance.)"（net bible）

net bible解釋tender：
"and the eyes of Leah were tender." The disjunctive clause (introduced here by a conjunction and a noun) continues the parenthesis begun in v.16. It is not clear what is meant by "tender" (or "delicate") eyes. The expression may mean she had appealing eyes (cf. NAB, NRSV, NLT), though some suggest that they were plain, not having the brightness normally expected. Either way, she did not measure up to her gorgeous sister.

另外，沒有「神氣」的strong number是<07390>，其解釋都是「嬌嫩的，柔軟，柔和的，弱……」，從沒有說她醜。

在全本聖經，共有16節是有<07390>出現，大部分的和合本都是翻作「嬌嫩」和「柔和」。（出處：創18:7、創29:17、創33:13、申20:8、申28:54、申28:56、撒下3:39、代上22:4、代上29:1、代下13:7、伯41:3、箴4:3、箴15:1、箴25:15、賽47:1、結17:22）

這段經文似乎把利亞較為平淡又的外貌與她妹妹拉結迷人的美貌作比較，雅各就是喜歡（「樣好身材正」的拉結。

但神像是喜愛利亞溫柔的眼睛，她的從神來的祝福和幫助比拉結多。利亞共生了六子一女，而拉結只有兩個兒子。

可惜，無論利亞做甚麼也不可以贏取她丈夫的愛。拉結的兩個兒子約瑟和便雅憫卻是雅各的至愛，所以，拉結才是雅各真正的妻子。

有趣的是，神的揀選不是按著拉結的美貌，祂揀選的是利亞。彌賽亞耶穌是出自利亞的兒子猶大的後代。

耶穌的眼是如何？我只想起兩個故事：「耶穌站在拉撒路墳墓前的眼淚」（約翰福音11:35）和「雞叫以先彼得三次不認主，主耶穌轉過身來看彼得的眼睛。」（路加22:61）
