出埃及記32:8
「他們快快偏離了我所吩咐的道，為自己鑄了一隻牛犢，向他下拜獻祭，說：以色列啊，這就是領你出埃及地的神。」
"They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt."

當時出埃及的以色列人見摩西在山上已經有40晝夜，他還沒有下山，他在神面前仍在接受啟示。百姓就等在山下，等了一天又一天，40天就這樣過去了。其實也許還沒有到40天，只差一點點，可能是38-39天的時間，百姓看見摩西還沒有回來，他們便聚集到亞倫那裡。他們就來到亞倫那裡說：

「起來！為我們做神像，可以在我們前面引路；因為領我們出埃及地的那個摩西，我們不知道他遭了什麼事。」（出埃及記32:1）
"And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. "--KJV

中文聖經中把那個「像」字加上去是多餘的。百姓是這樣說，「為我們造神。」

「亞倫看見，就在牛犢面前築壇，且宣告說：明日要向耶和華守節。次日清早，百姓起來獻燔祭和平安祭，就坐下吃喝，起來玩耍。」（出埃及記32:5-6）

百姓好興奮，好有feel。同時他們也以為拜牛犢和敬拜神是一樣，他們的敬拜方法是自我認為好的方法。今天我們的敬拜聚會又如何？好興奮，好有feel就是好？好的敬拜方式又是否我們想出來的？

申命記5:33
「耶和華─你們神所吩咐你們行的，你們都要去行，使你們可以存活得福，並使你們的日子在所要承受的地上得以長久。」
"Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. "

前埃及前後的生活方式是有180度改變的。從前在埃及生活，埃及人一星期是有十天的，但自有十誡後，一星期是有七天（六天工作，一天給神使用）。

申命記13:5
「至於那神言人或那作夢的，則必須被處死，因為他說了叛逆的話背叛著永恆主你們的上帝、那領你們出埃及地，救贖你脫離為奴之家的上帝，要勾引你離開永恆主你的上帝所吩咐你走的道路。這樣你就把那壞事從你中間肅清了。」（LZZ）
"As for that prophet or dreamer, he must be executed because he encouraged rebellion against the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt, redeeming you from that place of slavery, and because he has tried to entice you from the way the Lord your God has commanded you to go. In this way you must purge out evil from within. "

使徒行傳9:2
「求文書給大馬色的各會堂，若是找著信奉這道的人，無論男女，都准他捆綁帶到耶路撒冷。」
"And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. "

道路（the way）的總結就是活出Shema（聽到神的話之後存在心，之後更實行出來），以及持守神的話在生命的道路上。
